The Kitty Box™ was born from a moment of truth — the kind that makes you stop, look at your life, and choose something different. What began as simple shifts in my own wellness routine grew into a deeper discovery about what our bodies truly need and deserve. This space was created from curiosity, lived experience, and a deep commitment to caring for ourselves in ways that feel honest, gentle, and rooted in awareness. The Kitty Box™ is more than a brand — it’s a journey, a reclaiming, and a reminder that our wellness story can begin again at any moment.
Our Story: The Real Version
It all started with a phone call — a genetic counselor asking me questions I had never truly sat with before: What products are you putting on your skin? What feminine hygiene items are you using on your intimate areas? What foods are you consuming every day? She wasn’t asking out of routine. She was trying to make sense of something that didn’t make sense on paper. I had been tested for the BRCA gene — the gene associated with breast and ovarian cancer — and the results came back negative. And in my family, cancer doesn’t even run. My mother and I are the only two women who have ever had it. So there she was, trying to understand how I developed endometrial cancer at my age, and there I was, realizing I didn’t have real answers. I had been using whatever was on the shelves, whatever smelled good, whatever was marketed to us as “normal.” That phone call cracked something open in me. It made me look deeper into ingredients, labels, chemicals, and all the things we’re told are safe simply because they’ve always been sold to us.
Once that awareness hit, my bathroom cabinet suddenly felt like a setup. So I did what I always do when life puts me up against a wall — I went to the kitchen. My kitchen quickly turned into The Kitty Lab. Oils infusing on the counter. Herbs drying next to the stove. Bowls of sugar, butters, and jars everywhere. I started making sugar scrubs, whipped body butters, oils, soaps, and herbal blends because I needed something I could trust. And let’s be clear: my friends and family didn’t come asking for these products. I made them use them. I was not about to let the people I love keep putting toxic, questionable products in and on their bodies. I would literally pull up like, “Here. Take this. You’re using my stuff from now on.”
The more I learned — about endocrine disruptors, reproductive health disparities, medical bias, period trauma, toxins in feminine products, and how deeply Black and Brown women’s pain is dismissed — the more I realized this was bigger than me experimenting in the kitchen. It became a mission. A calling. A responsibility. What started as homemade scrubs and butters turned into womb care, steaming blends, yoni oils, washes, teas, and eventually an entire feminine wellness brand rooted in truth, transparency, and ancestral knowing.
The Kitty Box™ wasn’t created to be cute or trendy.
It was created because our lives, our bodies, and our lineage deserve better.
It was created because so many of us are suffering in silence.
Because we’re not being heard in medical spaces.
Because our symptoms are dismissed, our pain is minimized, and our wellness is often an afterthought.
Because no one was telling us the truth — so I decided I would.
The Kitty Box™ was built from my healing, my fear, my loss, my curiosity, my research, and the fierce love I have for the women I know and the ones I haven't met yet. This is our story — real, raw, and born in my kitchen. Built from intention. Grounded in truth. Fueled by love. And every time you step into this space, you become part of that story too.
